Newbie Notes with Des - Vol. 1

I was always interested in the Gods/Greek Mythology for as long as I can remember. I don´t know where or when or how my interest started.

How did I start?

I befriended Jessie lol and she told me about her business idea and as stated previously, 

it´s something I´ve always been interested in. I never really had the time for it before, at least that´s what I told myself, now that I´m working with Jessie I´m suddenly making the time. 

How did I pick Hermes?

50% Jessie and 50%...Destiny? (lol, cringe I know. I´ve dealt with it all my life and now I´ve become one of them). So 50% Jessie because I told her what I want and what I´m looking for in life (abundance in wealth and travel, & growth and prosperity in business) & also she knows/sees my personality and she has deducted that Hermes and I are a match meant to be. I say the other 50% is Destiny/Fate because I feel like low-key Hermes has been around my life, in the background, and I´m only just now hearing/seeing him. At least that´s what it feels like to me. I´m sure he´s out there agreeing with me like, ¨Yep, I was def screaming and you ignored me¨

I SAID I WAS SORRY

Anyway, I´d see him in some books I´d read and maybe some movies too. He´d always end up being my fav character in all of them. Also, when I would see artwork of random Gods, I´d always been drawn to Hermes because he was always the prettiest to me (don´t tell Aphrodite I said that), and I absolutely adore his little wings. That´s most likely going to be the next tattoo me and Jessie get. Tea With The Gods is also sorta like a big dedication to Hermes being the God of Commerce & Money. Also, you know because he travels EVERWHERE, you know he´s got ALL the JUICY tea. 

Where am I now in my journey?

Honestly, It feels like I´m right where I started because I´m not actually spending/dedicating my time to ¨study¨ & ¨research¨ which is a BIG factor in learning/worshipping Hellenic Polytheism. I literally cheat and use Jessie as my fact checker when I see a video or online post instead of doing my own due diligence. But hey, if you had your own Jessie you´d use and abuse her too (It´s ok, she likes it). Anyway, even though it FEELS like I haven't learned a thing, I now know that:

• The true Hades & Persephone story 
• Team Achilles & Patroclus 4 life
• Apollo is cool contrary to how Lore Olympus portrayed him (don´t hate me, I didn´t know any better)
• Artemis = Bears
• Don´t like Jason (from the Argonauts)
• Medea is CRAZY CRAZY but like cheers to her 🍾🥂
  
• How to set up my alter
• Everything and I mean everything in Greek Mythology is connected. The saying ¨It´s a small world¨ couldn't be truer when relating to the Hellenic Pantheon
