This years Aphrodite New Moon takes place on either Sunday April 11th or Monday April 12th, depending on where you live.

What exactly is an Aphrodite New Moon? It’s like any other new moon except imbued with Aphrodite’s energy! This year’s Aphrodite New Moon is especially magical because it occurs in the sign…ARIES! That’s right, turtledoves! We got ourselves an Aphrodite and Ares New Moon coming up!! How exciting!!!

But what does that actually mean and how can you take advantage of these energies?

Let’s start with the new moon phase. The new moon is the time for everything and anything NEW. New beginnings, new projects, new aspirations, new goals, new relationships, new studies, new lessons, new growth, new new new! The new moon is when you plant the seeds for whatever it is you are trying manifest.

The addition of Aphrodite’s energy means two things for April’s New Moon. Firstly, thanks to Aphrodite’s divine energy this new moon is more charged. Secondly, any seeds you are planting that are within the realm of Aphrodite’s influence get an extra kick of energized goodness! What is especially fantastic about our beloved goddess is she’s so expansive that it’s difficult to find an area she does not influence. So basically, regardless of what you choose to do for this new moon Aphrodite’s energy will help you manifest it!

Now the Aries part. Aries is ruled by the planet Mars so the energy it emits is remarkably like Ares. It’s a sign of passion and impulsivity. Aries does not question or contemplate. Aries acts. So, this fiery new moon is action oriented. It is about taking your words, dreams, and desires out of the imagination and into the physical through meaningful action. There is also an emphasis on the NEW since just like the new moon is the beginning of lunar cycle, Aries is the beginning of the zodiac.

To sum this all up this new moon is a Manifesting Titan!

Now is the time to really think about your goals and use this new moon as fertilizer to grow your dreams in and as a BIG ENERGETIC PUSH to get you in motion! All goals need action behind them but getting that initial start can feel daunting and even pointless. This new moon can help give you the motivation you need to put your plans into action.

I do however want to clear up some things. Firstly, your goals are your own and they are important regardless of how others may perceive them. Using this new moon to help you get started in learning a new skill or to help stay consistent with a writing practice are not a waste of the moon’s energy. We often think BIG ENERGY should be used for BIG GOALS, but I think the better way to look at it is to use the energy for what is IMPORTANT to you right now. Secondly, rest is always a valid and meaningful way to spend any cosmic event. Don’t pressure yourself to do something if you’re not feeling it or you don’t have the time. I recently did a tarot reading with Aphrodite asking what I should focus on this new moon and every card I pulled pointed back to relaxation and contemplation. That’s it.

So just know that there is no right or wrong way to celebrate this Aphrodite New Moon nor do you even have to celebrate it. But regardless of what you choose to do I still hope you have a wonderful and magical day with Aphrodite!
